From the outset, Uganda Cooperative Savings and Credit Union; as the umbrella body of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (SACCOs) has unwaveringly encouraged the formation and development of Safe and Sound SACCOs to ensure that financial services reach the population across the country as a way of encouraging savings mobilization and use of these savings deposits as a source of investment capital to rural enterprises in form of loans.
We have been using every opportunity afforded to honour our legacy by expanding our services and products. We are developing programs and projects specifically designed to meet pressing needs of SACCOs and over the past decades, the national reach of the Institution has grown immensely with over 1000 SACCOs as members across the 82 Districts of Uganda.
We have enjoyed a remarkable 38th anniversary year of celebrating and of being celebrated. At the heart of it all, the incredible contributions that our member SACCOs, partners, supporters and staff have made and continue to make, In particular the Government of Uganda and IFAD, towards building a better Uganda.
Building on UCSCU's long tradition of creatively promoting and helping communities and people organise and mobilise to create a better world for themselves and for future generations, UCSCU through the Rural Financial Services Programme will help increase access to financial services by supporting existing SACCOs to raise their membership and savings and loan portfolios and by helping newly-registered SACCOs in previously un-served sub-counties to become operational and grow.
Iam pleased to welcome you to the official website of UCSCU. Through this website, you will be able to access a wealth of useful information about our work: products and services, and our administrative structure. We encourage you to continue sending us your news and insight on community development so that we can share them through the network to our partners and stakeholders. Let us stay connected so all may be strengthened. Together, let us continue to build a better Uganda, and I hope you find the website very useful.
